Overlooking Gloucester’s Oakes Cove, this home exemplifies the collaborative nature of architecture and design. Responding to the varying shapes of the rooms, finishes and furnishings were intentionally chosen to accentuate architectural decisions. Grounded materials were selected to balance the expansiveness that the panoramic windows provide. Ceiling treatments, such as wood paneling, add interest and warmth. The handcrafted foyer chandelier, designed to mimic marsh grass, is visible from several vantage points throughout the house. Overall, this house was designed to have a refined, transitional feel while accommodating the needs of a large pet-friendly family.
